Cathy's Tasting Notes Upon Release:
Another in a long string of great vintages, it is one of my favorite to date. With the elegant complexity and structure of the 1991 and the power and concentration of the 1990, it exhibits all the hallmarks that you have grown to expect from Corison Cabernet.  ~ Cathy Corison

Cathy's Notes from 25 Vintage Retrospective Tasting, October 2014:
Dark red brick. Warm impression. Lots of bottle bouquet. Cherries, plums. Lively but resolved. Lit up. Cassis lozenge, black cherry, peppermint. Lively tart balance. Savory. Unity.Yum.  LOVE Drink or hold.

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1993  (Corison) - Gorgeous dark black red; very slightly earthy nose with hints of tangerine peel and cigar box; intense lovely and fresh on the palate, herbs and fruit in combination; pencil lead and cherries; texture like a fine-woven fabric, almost like the proverbial iron hand in a velvet glove; classic cabernet character, astonishing freshness and perfect ripeness with just 12.8% alcohol.  12/2014

The Washington Post October 30, 1996
Reds for a Lotta Green by Michael Franz
"A brilliant wine built around a core of plum and black cherry fruit of almost eerie purity.  Supported by subtle oak and fine-grained, supple tannins, this is immensely charming stuff."

The Quarterly Review of Wines
Summer 1997
Best of the Best Cabernet Sauvignon:  Co-Best of Show
Deep, almost black color; seductive blackberry and vanilla nose; lush, svelte, highly concentrated flavors of ripe blackberry, white chocolate and new oak; voluptuous texture; beautiful balance.

Restaurant Wine
1996, Issue #56
*****  A fine, complex Cabernet with rich fruitiness and evident new oak.  It is well balanced, smoothly textured, and rich, with a lightly tannic finish.  Best-ever wine from this consistent producer.

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine  October 1996
This beautifully made wine is a class act from its attractive aromas to its lengthy finish.  Black cherries, herbs and varietal fruit tones are balanced with cocoa and creamy oak scents on a nose that becomes increasingly rich as it opens with air.  Supple and rounded at entry yet well-structured, the wine coats the palate, and its flavors deliver on the promise of its aromas.  Accessible and thoroughly enjoyable to drink...

The Wine Authority Fall/Winter Issue #9
Delightful aromas of violet, lavender and blueberries.  Soft and round with lovely berry fruit and hints of cinnamon and spice flavors.  A generous style that shows approachability and restraint.  Wonderful texture, concentration and length without being heavy or plodding; one of the better '93's.  Very Highly Recommended.

Robert Parker:  "A very impressive effort from Corison, the 1993 Cabernet's dark, ruby/purple color is followed by a sweet, smoky, jammy, black-currant scented nose, beautiful ripe cassis flavors, attractive suppleness and a medium to full-bodied, lush finish.  It should drink well for 15 years."
