Cathy's Tasting Notes Upon Release:
1994 is the best vintage I have seen in over 20 years of making wine in the Napa Valley.  Slightly bigger than many of my other vintages, this deep ruby, inky wine is packed with dark red fruit flavors including blackberry, plum and cherry, wrapped in the firm, softly tannic structure that distinguishes Corison Cabernet.  Spice and vanilla from small French oak cooperage integrate seamlessly with the fruit, and hints of violet and lavender are beginning to develop.  Notes of cedar, chocolate and tar add further complexity.

In honor of the birth of our daughter Rose in 1994, we have etched each magnum with a rose. ~ Cathy Corison

Cathy's Notes from 25 Vintage Retrospective Tasting, October 2014:
Ripe tart cherries, blueberries, violet perfume. Mouthfilling texture, satin feel. Dusy, graphite minerality, forest floor. Integrated oak, baking spices. Supple tannins Completely resolved. Delicious. LOVE Drink or hold.

Antonio Galloni presents VINOUS explore all things wine
1994 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon  92  Healthy dark red. Alluring aromas of black cherry, coffee, licorice and dried flowers. Supple and creamy but dry in the mouth, offering excellent definition and cut to its subtle flavors of cherry, fresh herbs and minerals. Not an opulent wine but sexy, pliant and perfumed. Finishes with sweet, ripe tannins, a lingering balsamic element and excellent length.                                                                                                                 Stephen Tanzer, July 2015

Restaurant Wine

***** Very supple and elegantly styled, this is an outstanding Cabernet, with rich flavors, good balance, and a very long finish.  Fine quality.  Perhaps the best wine we have tasted from Corison.                                                                                                                                                                                            Issue #59

***** Top wine of the tasting and what a California cabernet is all about.  It's big, complex yet supple, showing cassis, vanilla.                                 June 4, 1997

John Winthrop Haeger
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1994 (Corison) - Medium dark, black-red verging toward mahogany, almost opaque; appealing nose of incense, fir balsam and allspice; exquisite attack combining delicacy of structure with intensity of fruit flavor; abundant griotte cherry and persistent hard spice; very supple, fine-grained tannins toward the finish.  A vintage that is easy to like and completely delicious.                                                                                                    reviewed 2010
