This three-bottle boxed set includes the 2011, 2012 and 2013 Corison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

The 2011 is certainly a candidate for one of my favorite vintages ever, displaying the entire range of Cabernet fruit flavors from black cherry and blueberry through plum, cassis and blackberry with cameos played by black raspberry and lingonberry, shored up by bracing natural acidity and firm and grippy, but velvety, tannins. A wonderful mineral streak and forest-floor earthiness run up the middle and a precocious violet perfume enhances the aromas. Grace notes include cocoa, espresso and savory sage, thyme, allspice and coriander. It feels supple and textural in the mouth- luscious. This calls for lamb!

I love the 2012.  Light on its feet, it smells of black cherry, blueberry and black currant fruits, violets and loamy earth.  Top notes of peppermint and cumin add even more interest.  The finish goes on and on.

The 2013 has particularly luscious texture.  Coupled with snappy natural acidity, it is a delight, providing a yin and yang duality. Aromas and flavors tend toward the dark end of the Cabernet fruit spectrum with blueberries, black cherries, blackberries and dark plums all singing in close harmony. Complexing notes include tobacco, baking spices, chocolate, and savory herbs including sage, thyme and basil. Floral notes of violets and rose petals play with a notable stony minerality in the aromas and long finish.Cathy Corison

2011 Corison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
VIEW FROM THE CELLAR
95  Cathy Corison’s 2011 cabernet sauvignon is her twenty-fifth harvest at her own winery, and not surprisingly the queen of Napa Valley elegance has produced a stellar wine in the cooler year of 2011. The wine is a ripe, but suave 13.7 percent and wafts from the glass in a stellar constellation of red and black cherries, a fair bit of Rutherford Dust, tobacco leaf, beautiful soil tones, a hint of eucalyptus, fresh herb tones and a very refined base of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure, a superb core of fruit, absolutely seamless balance, great focus and complexity and a very long, youthful and ripely tannic finish of impeccable focus and grip...John Gilman, Jul/Aug 2014, Issue #52
2012 Corison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
California Grapevine
93  Medium-dark purplish ruby; attractive, deep, complex, blueberry and blackberry fruit aroma with a note of cassis and hints of dried herbs and vanilla; full body; rich, ripe, textured, well balanced, currant and dark berry fruit flavors with good depth and an expansive, velvety mouthfeel; medium-full to full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Approachable and appealing now, though deserving another five more years of bottle aging. Very highly recommended.Volume 41, June 2015

Decanter Magazine:  Californian Cabernet 2013: Top five wines of the vintage
96 Beautifully perfumed aromas of rose petal, violets, blackberry, dark chocolate and incipient cigar tobacco burst from the glass in a striking array, the prelude to a wine that’s structured around refined, savoury tannins and juicy acidity. An ethereal and classically proportioned Cabernet which will age effortlessly thanks to its flawless balance, likely putting on weight with bottle age. Terrific stuff; not to be missed.2016 California Wine Guide
