The Wine Spectator
"Firm
and focused, with ripe and intense cherry, currant and blackberry,
turning supple and polished and holding its flavors for a long, complex
aftertaste..." reviewed 1999

Brilliant
deep garnet. Tar, black pepper, clove and allspice on the nose;
lovely, suave, smooth and tightly-knit on the palate, like velour; also
elegant and intense; a beautiful, sleek, dark wine with an attractive
mineral underlay. Beautiful now, but still full of life. 12/2016

California Grapevine
Medium-dark
ruby; attractive, intense, complex, spicy, cedary, ripe currant,
blackberry, and cassis aroma with a note of black pepper; full body;
big, rich, concentrated, dense, cedary, ripe currant and black cherry
fruit flavors with hints of tar and coffee; medium-full tannin...
lingering aftertaste. Very highly recommended. February-March 2001

"Worthy Splurge:
Cathy Corison Napa Valley Kronos Cabernet Sauvignon 1998. A bad
vintage? Try this well-aged specimen and see if you don't think some
beautiful Napa cabernets were made that year." The 12 Best Restaurants in New York for Wine, Eric Asimov, October 8, 2013
